The Divine Victory

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest.

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

Come to prayer. Come to success. Allah is the Greatest.

I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.

The Victory of Peace

But in the long run, looked very great and the big numbers came to Islam after that. So that's a form when peace prevails and when the Muslims given an opportunity to call to Islam in peace, the barakah comes in, the fatah comes in. Notice that, very important observation here.

Before al-fatah comes surah Muhammad, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The ending of surah Muhammad is very interesting. What does it say? Says to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, after the battle of Badr and some of the Muslims were calling, let's call for peace, let's do this, let's do this.

Allah told the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam: So do not feel weak, do not call for peace. You are the highest if you truly believe.

So the peace, so Allah was telling them on one hand, do not call for peace when you are weak. And on the other hand, when they became strong, call for peace. What a way to see Islam and the dignity that Allah brings with us.

There's a difference between retreat, a difference between submission and going and signing and doing work when you are strong. And that is very important. That's a form of victory.

The Story of Ashabu'l-Ukhdud and Divine Observation

Another form of victory that I want to share with you, that is a very important form of victory. Now Allah sent to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in Surat al-Buruj, that we read there, the story of أصحاب الأخدود. And Allah called it Surat al-Buruj.

The interesting point here, Allah did not call the Surah, and I want you to think and reflect about that.

The bulk of the Surah is about أصحاب الأخدود, that were thrown and killed in hundreds of thousands, for nothing but to say, Allah al-Aziz al-Hameed, as the Surah expressed it. So, they were tortured. They were thrown in a pit of fire.

That's what happened to them. Allah is witnessing this.

Why isn't, please, listen carefully to this point here. Why isn't the Surah called Surah أصحاب الأخدود? It talks mainly about أصحاب الأخدود. Why did Allah call it al-buruj, instead of أصحاب الأخدود? Very interesting point that tells us how the victory comes and who brings you the victory.

Actually, al-buruj is the burj, back in the tower, observation tower at the airport, the observation tower in the sea, see it high, it's called burj, where it stands high to see what you cannot see when you are at the surface level. So the burj signifies something high that is able to do what you cannot do. And the one that has all the buruj and control of all the buruj and the heavens and the earth is Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ ۝ وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ, there will come a day where the one who controls the buruj will hold everyone accountable. So why is the emphasis on al-buruj, on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and not on أصحاب الأخدود? Because Allah knows what's happening and Allah delays the victory for a reason. And Allah will bring the victory because He's the one who sees everything, who has the power to see everything.

So if you examine the surah, you will see that the emphasis is more on Allah's power to defeat the oppressor. That's one point that I want to share with you.

The Boy Who Changed the World

Another observation that I want you to take out and keep it as one of your principles is what happened to the boy who challenged the tyrant king.

That boy, the king tried to kill him in the story because of the time, not going to mention the story, but he tried to kill the boy who became knowledgeable and was curing the people, helping the people against danger, and he was doing miracles. He tried to kill him because he, according to him, he thought he's the Lord. And when he asked the boy and asked the magician, who's your Lord? And he said, my Lord is Allah.

He killed him. And he wanted to kill the boy as well who had the extreme power, the utmost power. So he took him and threw him in the sea, the group of soldiers, and all of them drowned except that boy came back to the king, didn't die.

And he put him on top of a mountain, threw him, all of them were dead except the boy who came back to the king alive. Nothing happened to him. And at the end, the boy tells the king, if you really want to kill me, I order you, underline the word, I order you, order, to do the following.

Take one of my arrows and say, in the name of the Lord of this boy, and throw the arrow. And when he did that, he killed the boy. And the boy died.

And of course, people after that recognized what was happening. And they all said, we believe in the Lord of the boy. So those who were asleep, those who were not given attention, they all give attention.

Those who, you know, forgot about the tyrant and what the tyrant did, became awake and realized what was going on. Was a wake up call for all the nations at that time. For all the people to wake up and recognize where is the utmost power, extreme.

Where is the one, you know, where is the oppression? Where is this and this? They realized this. My important point here that I want you not to leave this door without thinking about it, why did the boy die? What did he gain? Did he see the victory coming? He worked for the victory and he worked for all of that. He didn't see anything of that.

That he made a revolution. He changed the world order. Changed everything around him.

And that was enough for him. Didn't want to gain anything. And that's what Allah told the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

Whether we let you die or see the fruits of what you do, your job is to convey the message and the results is up to us. What a way to think about it. Maybe the one who brought the victory, maybe the one who brings the victory will die without seeing the fruits of his work.

But the boy made a revolution in the world. Let everybody wake up was a wake up call for the whole world to wake up and realize what is wrong. I pray to Allah that the whole world will wake up and realize what's going on to our brothers and sisters in Gaza, in Sudan, in different parts of the world.

The Ultimate Victory of Allah

Dear brothers, there's a lot of thoughts to examine the Quran about victory. And I shared with you before that, at the end, if nothing works, the victory of Allah works.

Nothing worked with the Pharaoh until the victory of Allah came to Musa through the hands of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala through the power of Allah when he hit the sea and was split into two and Musa passed, you know, nicely and the Pharaoh drowned.

Or in the Al-Mala'i min Bani Isra'ila min Ba'di Musa in Surah Al-Baqarah and how they were a few and weak and how Allah empowered them. And Allah said at the end of the story, He conquered them by the will of Allah.

Think of how many of the Muslims were in the Battle of Badr and before the Battle of Badr and where they went in the conquest of Mecca and where Allah told them at the end

May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bring us the victory and decrease the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Gaza, in Sudan, in all parts of the Muslim world.
