Ala Salaam - Think Good of Allah

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ

The last khutbah, we talk about the important things a Muslim should know about Islam and take out all the fluff that you could learn in half hour. Unfortunately as I stated last time and this is not just one young person is a question of a lot of people that when I go to one Shaykh I hear things I go to another Shaykh I hear other things and what am I supposed to do?

Return to the Basics

You need to think back to the basics this is a religion that is meant to accomplish two things and when I say this is a religion I don't mean the Sharia of Muhammad I mean the religion of Islam of all the Prophets from Nuh alayhi salaam all the way to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam two purpose:

The first one is to guide humanity to guide all the children of Adam no exception those of them who believe and those of them who don't believe because sometimes we feel that because we believe we're Muslims we follow Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam we're good we're all set and then when Allah talks about the Kuffar or anything else in the Quran we say no that's not us that's somebody else. The whole Quran is addressing the whole humanity whole in whole there is no partitions or divisions so the first purpose of that religion and the books that Allah sent to us is to guide, guide humanity the children of Adam.

Some of them are rocket scientists but some can't even read how is this book going to guide these people the PhDs and the no degrees at all? So if you complicate things that means your understanding is wrong because this religion came to guide everybody and some people take the Quran they don't know a word in it and somehow they become Muslims without even asking anybody just by reading the Quran and some of the translations so our understanding of things need to be re-examined.

The Second Purpose: Mercy

The second is it's mercy, it's meant to make your life easier so if religion, if Islam is complicating your life there is something wrong in your understanding just a rule put this as two rules that you go by why? because Allah clearly states in the Quran:

Because Allah wants ease for you and He doesn't want hardships for you and then He says:

Allah will never prescribe something for you that make your life difficult that to practice your Islam your life has to be difficult it is the opposite practicing Islam makes your life easier so if your life is getting difficult by practicing Islam there is something wrong in how you understand how to practice this religion and you need to re-examine that.

Allah's Love for Us

This is who Allah is unfortunately like stated last week is that people presented Allah in the most outrageous way that Allah is not and I will show you some of the verses that we all read and go over glance over don't understand it you will be shocked of what Allah is saying to us and we're not listening.

When we were in عالم الأمر the world before we came to عالم الخلق Allah created us the fact that Allah created you and me not somebody else that means He loves you and me from the get go that Allah creates you that means He loves you He could have created someone else so you don't have to assume that you're going to be punished and go into hell fire if Allah already created you you're born Allah loves you you're a Muslim.

We are the ones who requested to carry the burden the الأمانة and Allah said okay He answered us the same way He answered Satan when Satan told him give me the life till the day of judgment He said okay take it and sometimes we ask harmful things to ourselves but Allah knows best.

The Creation of the Universe for Us

So Allah when we accepted the الأمانة that means you have a freedom to choose you cannot stay up there so He created this whole entire world the universe stars that far away as millions of light years the earth tilts in one way for over 7 billion years it does not if earth tilts 1 inch closer to the sun we die burning if it tilts 1 inch away from the sun we'll die freezing who is holding it for us and what did we do to deserve all of this it is the divine generosity.

Then Allah put Adam in a place He told him that I'm putting you in a Jannah in a place it's not جَنَّةُ الخُلد as some of the scholars say but a different Jannah that you have not to worry about your food your drinks your sun hitting or anything everything is good eat from anywhere you want except one tree.

We know the story Adam eventually ate from this tree the problem was as Shaykh Sha'rawi stated all the other trees when you eat them you don't have waste your body use all of them except that tree that's why Allah told him not to eat it not to make his life miserable but to make his life easier yet he went and he ate from it he could not stay in this place because this place is clean he had to move to a different place so Allah bring us all to this place here on earth it has its own laws you have to respect these laws that's why Allah intervened.

And Allah another rule that you have to tell yourself Allah does not do anything bad to us:

Whatever good thing happens to you is from Allah and any bad thing that happens to you is because of what you have done and Allah intervened to change this for us.

So Allah tell us He subjugated the entire universe for us and subjugated everything on earth for us what did we do? still nothing:

He subjugated everything in the samawat everything on earth He subjugated it for you just from Him like generosity out of Him.

The Angels Making Istighfar for Us

And Allah also and this verse blew me away:

Allah states that the heavens are bursting one above the other in awe of Allah and the angels they praise Allah and what other job the angels do وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا the angels are making istighfar to every person on earth Muslim and Kafir why? because Allah says لِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا who's on earth? the angels make istighfar to everyone on earth everyone جَمِيعًا means all of them no exception the angels make istighfar to even the kuffar yes you know why? because they're not dead yet they're not dead yet and today you're a kafir tomorrow maybe you're not.

أقُولُ قَوْلِي هَـٰذَا وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ لِي وَلَكُمْ

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ كَمَا يُحِبُّ رَبُّنَا وَيَرْضَىٰ وَأَشْهَدُ أَن لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمَّا بَعْدُ

The Incomparable Mercy of Allah

You need to understand there is nothing like the mercy of Allah nothing nothing it's a divine you cannot compare it to anything else just to get you on this place on earth he creates universes for you subjugate all of it for you everything on earth even the animals everything is subjugated for you but there are rules that you have to follow think good of Allah.

If Allah wanted to punish us like he stated in surah al-kahf if Allah wanted to punish you for every mistake that you make there would be nobody left on the face of the earth and it's easy for him to do that and nobody can question him but he's merciful he is merciful in a way that you can never imagine.

Three Categories of Sins

Rasulullah ﷺ tells us it has like three pockets, three files one file, one bucket he forgives all of it all of it will be forgiven another file it's on hold and the last file or bucket can never be forgiven easy the one that can never be forgiven is associating partners with Allah. Allah does not forgive associating partners with him but everything beyond that he forgives all of it no problems.

The one that Allah forgives now you need to understand when you read the Quran you find Allah says for example Zunub, unfortunately translation does not differentiate Zunub is different than Sayyiat. Zunub, Allah says Allah forgives all Zunub. Zunub is what you do, you commit to transgress against yourself nobody can transgress against Allah so it's between you, you don't pray you don't fast, you commit adultery, all that stuff Allah forgives, no problem you make istighfar you ask tawbah, Allah forgives right away.

For every bad deed, He gives you one bad deed for every good deed, He gives you up to 700 tell me how people go to hellfire and then if you make istighfar He forgives everything and some people He changes all their bad deeds to good deeds what more mercy can you want.

Then when He talks about Sayyiat, Sayyiat is what you do against somebody else. Zunub is what you do against yourself that's between you and Allah. Sayyiat is when you do against somebody else. Here when you read in the Qur'an, in the whole Qur'an Al-Fatiha to An-Nas when He mentions Sayyiat, He says means Allah pays their debt for them.

How do you do that? when you do Sayyiat, when you transgress against somebody else go right away and do something good to someone else and Allah because of what you do that's good He will pay for that person in the day of judgment people will come and they did bad things to other people but their overall was good and they don't see the bad deeds and they ask Allah and Allah says I've given them something they were not supposed to get but I give it to them for you because you've done something bad to them but you also did good so because of your good I give them stuff that they were not supposed to get that's Allah.

Deal with Allah Like This

Deal with Allah like this most merciful most forgiven anything you ask Him, He will give you be careful what you ask He gives you from everything you ask that's Allah that's Allah you should teach your kids about that's Allah you should have in your heart that's Allah you should talk to people about and to do good that pleases Him and to do good to my offspring I repent to you and I am of the Muslims.

I say this and Allah forgive me and you and I end the prayer.
