Second Khutbah — Opening Praise and Salawat
All praise be to Allah, the Creator of existence from non-existence, the One who brought forth light from darkness, and who extracted patience from hardship. We thank Him for calamities just as we thank Him for blessings. We send salutations upon His most noble Messenger — the one of magnificent character and complete light, the seal of the Prophets and the bearer of the firm Scripture, the master of the children of Adam, whom Isa ibn Maryam gave glad tidings of, and for whose advent Ibrahim, peace be upon him, supplicated while raising the foundations of the sacred House of Allah. The One through whom Allah blessed all of mankind — the Arabs and the non-Arabs alike. Glory be to the One who has not taken a son, and who has no partner in His dominion, and who has no protector out of weakness — and magnify Him with all magnificence.
O people, Allah says in His Book — after seeking refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan:
And the Prophet ﷺ said:
(Jami' al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1987)
"Fear Allah wherever you are, and follow a bad deed with a good one and it will erase it, and treat people with good character."
May Allah bless us and you in the Noble Qur'an and benefit us and you with what is in it of verses and wise remembrance. Indeed He is the Most Generous, the Most Noble, the King, the Most Beneficent, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah alone, and may prayers and peace be upon the one after whom there is no Prophet.
O people, indeed Allah, blessed and exalted, has commanded you with a great command — He began it Himself, and then His angels who glorify His holiness joined in, and He made you — O believers — from among His creation of jinn and men the third, as He said:
O servants of Allah, may Allah have mercy on you — fear Allah. Indeed Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbids all evil deeds, and al-munkar, and oppression. He admonishes you, that you may take heed.
Establish the prayer.
