Community Announcements

Jazakumullahu khayran. So we have a few announcements. You can pay attention inshallah.

Number one, we have our summer school starting up. The summer school registration has started already. It's going to be from June 1st to July 9th. The registration has opened. We have limited seats. So if you're interested in sending your child to the summer school, please do register. The registration link is online. As soon as the seats are full, we'll end up closing the registrations because of the limited classrooms. We cannot extend the classes.

Then Sunday is full of programs. In the morning, we have the Hajj workshop. Ustadh Bajur is conducting a Hajj workshop after Dhuhr on Sunday, which is 26th of April. So if you're planning to go for Hajj, inshallah, or even if you just want to come and learn, you're welcome to do so. It's going to be on the 26th after Dhuhr, 2:30, right here in the main hall. The sisters are going to be on the other side. The brothers are going to be on this side, inshallah.

Then we have the blood drive coming up on May 2nd. The blood drive is in partnership with Carter and the Red Cross. They come here with a lot of hope. Every time they come here, they get about 50 of us donating blood. They're really happy about that. So if you're able to donate blood, please do so. It's on May 2nd. It's a Saturday. It starts at 11 o'clock in the morning and goes till 4 o'clock. It's going to be in the multipurpose hall.

Last but not least, we have talked about this many times. Once again, as a reminder for myself and you, regarding the elections, the city elections. While we think about the national elections, the national leaders at the federal level, we need to start locally. As we speak right now, there are elections going on in the city of Murphy. The city of Murphy, place 3 and place 5, those are the two city council member seats that are up for grabs right now. So if you have not voted and you live in the city of Murphy, the early voting has started already. It's going to finish this weekend on Saturday, and then there will be Monday and Tuesday, and then the actual election is on May 2nd.

As we speak right now, as we stand today, we only have 70 people who voted out of 2,000 who live in the city of Murphy. 70 of us have voted only. Brothers and sisters, please take some time. During early voting, the lines are not big. It will take you about 15, 20, 30 minutes. Please, this is the time for us to stand up and speak up and make our voices heard. If we don't participate in the election right now, we have no right to complain. So there are candidates. There are teams who are standing outside. They will help us select the candidates. Obviously, as EPIC 501c3, we don't endorse or support any candidate or party. We are neutral, but we can definitely encourage you to go out there and vote. So my humble request is for all of us to go vote during early voting, so that we have a track record, and the candidates will see that our community has stepped up and voted. Therefore, they will give us an ear to hear from us, inshallah.

And as always, on your way out, please help the masjid with your donations. $20 per person will go a long way. Jazakumullah khayran. As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Opening and Testimony of Faith

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Alhamdulillah! All praises are due to Allah. We praise Him and we seek His help and we seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our souls and the consequences of our actions. Whomever Allah guides can never be misguided and whoever is misguided cannot be guided except with Him. I bear witness and I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship other than Allah jalla jalaluhu and I bear witness and I testify that the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is His final Prophet and His most perfect worshipper.

As to what follows, remember that Allah Azza wa Jalla has commanded us to be conscious of Him in the Quran when He says:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

Signs of the Day of Judgment: Purpose vs. Misinterpretation

Dear Muslims, we're living in very confusing times, times of great trials, tribulations, political turmoils and in light of this chaotic environment we find ourselves in, it is all too common for people like us, the clergy, the scholars to be asked the question, what is predicted in the hadith, in the Quran about this time frame? What did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tell us about these events that we see unfolding? And I'm sure that all of you have been forwarded messages in which a hadith, maybe from an obscure source, a tertiary source is forwarded to you and somebody comments and says, oh look, this hadith, we see it happening in front of us.

In fact the topic of the signs of the day of judgment, Ashrat al-Sa'ah, is of course a very important one. It is a fundamental of our iman. I myself have given more than 15 lectures in a series here at EPIC, you can find it online, about the detailed knowledge that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave us about the signs of the day of judgment.

This khutbah today is not about listing the major and the minor signs, you can find them in so many books and in so many lectures. This khutbah today is about changing the way we perceive these signs, about the realities of how we, unfortunately, have taken that genre of hadith as a crutch in order for us to not do what Allah wants us to do.

Today, in an age of global instability, wars, political fragmentation, technological anxiety, moral confusion, such hadith, instead of motivating us to do something, have been misinterpreted by some in order to act without any real tangible change. They have been taken as an excuse to postpone action, to claim that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has willed something like this, there's nothing that I can do, and that mindset is what the topic today will address.

The True Purpose of End-Times Hadith

The purpose, my dear brothers and sisters, of the hadith about the signs of the day of judgment, is not to have entertainment, it is not to talk over a fireside chat, it is not to engage ourselves at the dinner table, it is to reform our hearts so that we have actual action that we do.

What happens is that when political changes become so rampant, these ahadith, unfortunately, are used as a psychological retreat, as a type of apolitical acquiescence to status quo, and people begin to search for certainty in the unknown, and they turn to these apocalyptic interpretations, trying to find comfort in this chaotic world.

In fact, some of the clerics of our times, may Allah guide them and me, some of the clerics have made this their main focus, they constantly pretend as if what is happening right now is exactly this hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari, it is exactly this hadith in this narration, and they try to match up reality with what the Prophet ﷺ said. This is a mistake of the highest magnitude.

Scholarly Warning Against Current Event Predictions

Throughout our history, the reputable scholars have always warned us, do not link a hadith with current events, do not link a hadith with what you are seeing around you, as if this is the only thing the Prophet ﷺ predicted. Why? What is the problem when we do so? Two main problems.

First Problem: Religious Fanaticism and Delusion

First, and perhaps the more obvious and radical one, when people immerse themselves in this type of genre, they get delusional thoughts that Allah has appointed them to bring about the changes in those narrations. This is something that we see around us in all faith traditions. When you immerse yourself in the end-of-times narratives without understanding the purpose of the end-of-time narratives, when you don't understand the goal, it's not that you become the actor, it is not a script that Allah is writing, it is not a Hollywood movie that you are starring in. When you start thinking like this, you start thinking delusional thoughts, and when you start thinking delusional thoughts, it leads to actions that are harmful to mankind.

In fact, outside of our faith tradition, it is factually correct to point out that a segment of the evangelical church, the evangelical community, not all of them, but those that are politically minded, they are quite literally playing out their version of the Armageddon in global events. They are quite literally expecting God to be on their side, Jesus to come down, because of what they are doing in bombing innocent people, in invading countries. We all understand the fanaticism when it comes from their side, but how about our own side?

What is Zionism? Except a perversion of Orthodox Judaism. The real Orthodox Jewish people do not agree with Zionism. Zionism is the politicization of a theology. It is an interpretation of the end-of-times that they are expediting, and to this day, many of the ultra-Orthodox refuse to embrace Zionism, because they view it as a heresy, a blasphemy against the teachings of Musa and they are correct in that understanding. When it happens amongst other people, we can see the dangers, but when it happens amongst us, we are not looking at that reality.

The 1979 Mecca Incident: A Historical Warning

Perhaps the most radical such implementation occurred almost 45 years ago, in 1979. Those of you that are older than 50-60 will remember, in 1979, a group of ultra-fanatics, fundamentalists, they began thinking the end-of-times is here. They began reading the ahadith and started thinking that what they are reading is exactly what is happening, but see, it wasn't exact. So they decided to make it exact. They decided to take those ahadith and act out like a Hollywood script, because clearly this is what the Prophet predicted.

And so these fundamentalists, these fanatics, they began to claim they are the Mahdi. One of them said he is the Mahdi, and he attacked the Haram in Mecca. He held the Haram hostage. This is the famous incident, I've given multiple lectures about it, in 1979. Go look and read. These are people from within our tradition. These are clerics from our own faith. They started reading this genre without knowledge, without understanding, and they said, oh, the end-of-times predicts a great civil war. The end-of-times predicts that Muslims are going to be fighting. The end-of-times predicts the Kaaba will be attacked. The end-of-times, the end-of-times. So lo and behold, they themselves began doing what they read in the hadith.

And when they did so, for two weeks they held Mecca itself hostage. They took the Kaaba as hostage, thinking Allah is on their side, thinking this is the Mahdi, and Allah will send angels to defend the Mahdi. They killed innocent hujjaj. Over a thousand people were killed in this two-week debacle. And these people literally thought, oh, Allah is on our side. This is the problem of religious fanaticism. When you think you are enacting the end-of-times, when you think this is the script Allah has given you, you are blinded to the reality of your own actions. Don't go down that route.

Understanding the Mahdi

But this route is the more fringe, alhamdulillah. The second problem is the more common one. And that is a problem that I really want to address in today's khutbah. The first problem is the problem of elevating yourself to become the actor. Allah didn't reveal a script for you specifically about the end of times. The genre of end of times, it is meant to motivate you to be spiritually better, not to be the one actor in the entire ummah. No, you are not going to be the Mahdi that Allah is sending. That's not going to happen. The Mahdi, as we know, is not even going to know he's the Mahdi. Anybody who claims he's the Mahdi, by default he's not the Mahdi, by the way. I mentioned this in a more detailed lecture. The Mahdi will, in the hadith predicts, he will come without even knowing he is. He's going to start a movement and change without knowing that is the case. So you do not get to act out the end of times hadith.

The Second Problem: Spiritual Complacency

But the second problem is the more insidious one. It is the more pernicious one. It is the one that afflicts many of us here.

The Danger of Passive Fatalism

And that second problem is not as dramatic, but it is very problematic for the ummah. And what is that problem? The problem is as follows. When you immerse yourself in those hadith without understanding the wisdom, without understanding the reason, many people start thinking fatalist thoughts. What's the point? It's the end of times. I can't do anything. There's no point in me changing anything. This is, we're watching a scene, we're watching a movie. We are just spectators in the movie. We're seeing the end of times and there's nothing I can do to change it. So I'll just sit back and I'll see all that is happening.

Allah did not tell us those hadith for us to be passive spectators. The Prophet ﷺ did not predict what he predicted in order for us to give up hope of any change and reform. And this is all too often the second problem that so many of us are guilty of. How many of our own congregants have come to me and said, oh, do you think this is that time yet? Is the Mahdi gonna come? Is Dajjal close by?

First and foremost, we believe in everything the Prophet ﷺ predicted. Secondly, you don't want to be alive when the Mahdi and Dajjal come. It's not a joke. It's not something that is casual. You don't want to be alive when the Armageddon happens. Pray to Allah and seek Allah's refuge to avoid that time. But thirdly, spending too much time in imagination, spending too much time worrying, is it that time? Is it this and that? Leads one to give up what Allah wants us to do, which is what? Action. Do something. Change. Bring about reform. Fight against oppression. Speak the truth. Act with justice. These are the non-negotiables. If we spend too much time imagining a potential future, it will harm us acting in the real world.

A Transformative Lesson on Personal Responsibility

And I will never forget in my own journey of education, almost 30 years ago, actually, yes, 30 years ago, when I was an undergraduate in the College of Hadith, we went over all of the books of Hadith. And I've mentioned this story before. It was a story that remains in my mind because of how it affected my own psychology. We were doing the Sunan of Abi Dawud, one of the classics. We're reading it cover to cover. And we came across the Hadith, which is authentic, that the Prophet ﷺ said:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ لِهَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ عَلَى رَأْسِ كُلِّ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ مَنْ يُجَدِّدُ لَهَا دِينَهَا

(Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith 4291)

Allah shall send every 100 years someone or people, the wording can be one or multiple, Allah will send someone or people who will revive the faith, renew the faith, re-spiritize the faith. This is a Hadith that Allah every 100 years, the Ummah will be revitalized. There's gonna be a spark again. There's gonna be a movement again.

We went across this Hadith. We read it. Then our Shaykh asked us, huh, what is the question all of you have when you read this Hadith? So I raised my hand. I said, Shaykh, the question that I have, I'm assuming everybody has it, who is the مُجَدِّد of our times? If every 100 years somebody is gonna come, then who is the one right now we can look up to?

And our Shaykh, may Allah bless him, he pointed to me as a result of all the class, he goes, that is the mindset that is the cause of our failure. I said, what? What do you mean? That is the mindset. That is the problem. What? What did I say? Shaykh, what is the problem? You already assume somebody else is gonna do something. You already passed the buck to somebody else. You already passed responsibility. Why didn't you aspire and say, oh Allah, make me from those people that are reviving the Ummah. Why didn't you aspire for higher aims? You automatically gave up and said somebody else is gonna do it. That is the problem.

And what he said shook me to the core because it is so true. You automatically think somebody else is gonna do it. That's not the purpose of these ahadith. Allah didn't tell you about the future, about the signs, so that you do nothing. No, the goal is to incentivize action. The goal is that you raise your own courage, your own aspirations, and then follow it up in doing something.

When is the Day of Judgment? What Have You Prepared?

In that famous hadith that the Prophet ﷺ, a man came to him and said, يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ, when is the day of judgment? This hadith is in Bukhari and Muslim. يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ, when is the day of judgment? Do you know what the response was? Look at the profundity of our Prophet ﷺ. How he flipped the script. How he completely renegotiated. When is the day? By the way, nobody knows when the day of judgment is. But the mindset of constantly obsessing about the imaginary future might come at the cost of what is actually required.

What did the Prophet ﷺ change the question? He reformulated the question. He said, what have you prepared for it? I want you to memorize this beautiful back and forth. This hadith is what this khutbah is about. The whole attitude that I want us to aspire to is what the Prophet ﷺ flipped the script. When is the day of judgment? What's gonna happen? What have you done to prepare? Are you ready to meet Allah? How are your good deeds? What are your actions? What is your عِبَادَة like? What is your rituals like? What is your interaction with people like?

Rather than think about an abstract imagination, something of the future, something that is intangible, something we don't know about, something that is عِلْمُ الْغَيْب. The Prophet ﷺ brought it right back home. What have you done to prepare for it? That is the attitude of our religion.

The Purpose of Prophetic Predictions

Yes, wallahi we believe. Nobody should misunderstand whatever the Prophet ﷺ predicted. Of course we believe in it. He is a Prophet. What does a Prophet do? He prophesizes. He talks about the signs of the day of judgment. Nobody's denying this. What we are saying, the purpose of those ahadith is not so that you do nothing. The purpose is to be inspired to be better, to be more courageous, to be action-oriented.

Realize, oh Muslim, the Qur'an is full of non-negotiables, action-based items. These are called قَطْعِيَّات, definitive. Worship Allah, pray, be righteous, be pious, be good, speak the truth, show justice, fight against injustice. These are non-negotiables, قَطْعِيَّات. And then you have speculative, So what's gonna happen in the future? Those are not blueprints for action. They are not scripts for drama. No, they are meant for us to be inspired generically.

When the Prophet ﷺ warned us, there shall come a time when lying will be prevalent. Yes, this is now something that should inspire us. We should not be of those people. When the Prophet ﷺ warned us, there shall come a time when people will be drinking more alcohol. So it should warn us, we see this around us, we should avoid alcohol. When the Prophet ﷺ said, زِنَا will become common, we see this, we should avoid it. Yes, but to take these hadith and then do nothing about them, or to imagine that we might be the actors that end of times predicts, this is where the problem comes.

The Hadith of Jibreel: Our Foundation

Let's go back to the most basic hadith that all of us studied when we were children, the hadith of Jibreel. Let us take the hadith of Jibreel as our role model. What is the hadith of Jibreel? Then at the very end, what are the signs of the Day of Judgment?

There's no purpose in jumping to the signs when you don't have There's no point in trying to immerse yourself in the signs, the eschatology, the end of times genre, when you haven't perfected إِسْلَام, إِيمَان, and إِحْسَان. Perfect your theology, perfect your actions, perfect your spirituality. That is non-negotiable.

Then the hadith of the end of times, that is something that when you read it with the proper knowledge, it will inspire you in your personal conduct. It will make you a better person to be careful of what the process predicted the evils might happen, and to be conscious of the negatives that you see. That is the purpose of the end of times. As for taking those ahadith as an excuse to be indolent, to be lazy, to not do something, that is most definitely not the purpose of those ahadith.

The Hadith of Action Until the Last Moment

There's so much going on. There's so many, there's so much room for us to contribute to mankind. What did our Prophet ﷺ say about action-based deeds?

(Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 12902)

He said, if the trumpet is blown, you hear the trumpet being blown, and you have in your hand a seedling, a plant, that you're able to put it in the soil before you die, then plant that seed before you die. This is a hadith that is actually not meant to be applied actually, because when you hear the Day of Judgment, you're not going to have milliseconds to do that. But the purpose of the hadith is to instruct us to do something. No matter what the situation is, do something, act, achieve, put in the effort, even if you're not going to live to see the results.

You might not live to see the positives of what you do, no big deal. Plant the seeds for that from now. If the Day of Judgment is announced, and you hear the trumpet being blown, and you have in your hands a plant, a seedling, and you're able to plant it before you die, go ahead and plant it. This is the attitude of the Qur'an and Sunnah. This is what Allah and His Messenger wants us to do.

So my dear brothers and sisters, the believer is not a passive witness. The believer is not just meant to sit and decode symbols in a hadith. No, the believer is an active participant. The believer is an instrument of positive change. The believer is a reformer of self and society. That is the purpose of our religion. That is why our Prophet ﷺ told us all that he told us.

May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless me and you with him through the Qur'an, and may he make us of those whose verses they understand, and apply halal and haram throughout our lifespan. I ask Allah's forgiveness, you as well ask Him for He is the Ghafoor and the Rahman.

Unity Despite Prophetic Warnings of Division

Alhamdulillah, all praise is due to Allah, the One and the Unique. It is He whom we worship, and it is His aid that we seek. He is the Lord of the oppressed, and He hears the prayer of the weak. As to what follows, one of the predictions of our Prophet ﷺ which has been grossly misunderstood by so many people, is the prediction of his ummah splitting up into many groups.

This is a prediction, we believe in it, and we see this. The ummah has split up into many groups, and that is a sad reality. And I have spoken about this issue of sectarianism, and different schisms, and different movements many times in these lectures, in khutbas, and in lectures. The fact that the Prophet ﷺ predicted it does not mean that he wants it, does not mean that he's happy by it, does not mean that we should endorse it and divide amongst ourselves.

No, because the words of the Prophet ﷺ must be understood in light of the Qur'an. And what does the Qur'an say?

All of you, Muslims, all of you, come together and hold on to the rope of Allah. What is the rope of Allah? It is His book, the kitab, it is the Qur'an. Hold on to the rope of Allah together, and do not divide amongst yourselves.

You see, the prediction tells us something is going to happen. This does not mean that we exacerbate the process. I'm told us there's going to be more bloodshed in the end of times. We see this reality. Does this mean we participate in it? Obviously not. The Prophet ﷺ told us people are going to drink more, people are going to fornicate more. Does this mean we open the door? Obviously not. These are warnings, warnings that we try to minimize, warnings that we fight against, not embrace.

Sectarianism is a warning that we need to fight against, not embrace willingly. Allah Azza wa Jal says explicitly in the Qur'an:

وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ

Do not be like those who split up into many groups and they divided themselves into many segments. This is an explicit commandment in the Qur'an. Do not be divided. Unite for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. And this is not the time to get into the details of that.

Unity Among Muslims: A Call for Maturity

It is a more multifaceted topic. I have given multiple lectures, but I reiterate dear Muslims, I reiterate my message to you for the last however many years. It is truly sad that those amongst us who choose to be religious, who choose to embrace religiosity, knowledge, who embrace a tradition of Islam, you find them to be sometimes the most hateful of other Muslims who are also pious, but following a slightly different understanding of Islam.

In other words, what we see is the irony, the contradiction, the closer an average person comes to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, if they're not trained properly, sometimes that allows them to open the door for hating other people who are also trying to come closer to Allah based upon the smallest of issues. It is truly painful that those that are not practicing Islam, they don't understand the differences between the religious folks, and yet the religious folks are fighting amongst themselves based on what? Abstract notions of whether theology, whether fiqh, whether methodology.

The Reality of Our Small Community

My dear brothers and sisters, as it is, we are a small community in this country. We are less than 1% or 1.5% of this country. In this 1.5%, what percentage are religious, I ask you? What percentage are interested in Islam and studying Islam, I ask you? Maybe, maybe 20%. Out of that 20% of the 1%, now we will be divided. Oh, this guy's a Sufi, this guy's a Salafi, this guy's a Jama'ati, this guy's a Tablighi, this guy's a this and that.

Have we not had enough of this petty sectarianism? Why is it that we have so much ease to divide amongst these abstract issues, these issues which the majority of Muslims, much less non Muslims, don't even understand? Isn't it ironic that the one who becomes religious, this masjid is labeled with that, this masjid is labeled with that, the two scholars hardly come together, the communities do not come together. What type of Islam is this?

What Unites Us vs What Divides Us

My dear Muslims, what unites us is much, much, much, much more than what divides us. And this is not good in any place in the world, but especially in this country, when Islamophobia is on the rise, when people are caricaturing our religion, making fun of our religion, making fun of our Prophet ﷺ, and in this environment I am worried about what specific fiqh issue you follow on this question, what specific abstract theology you follow?

It is high time for us in this country, and I'm going to be blunt here, it is high time for us to discard sectarianism. We don't care about our children being this fiqh or that fiqh, we want our children to be Muslims, we want them to believe in Allah and His Messenger, we want them to be proud to be Muslims in this country. If you are obsessed with only your own fiqh in the long term, you are harming the ummah, not benefiting the ummah.

You see what is happening of genocide around the world, of our brothers and sisters in Gaza, you see the reality of Islamophobia, and in this environment you're only worried about the abstract issues of theology, the very minute questions of fiqh, that differences have occurred from the time of the Sahaba, this is not the way forward, it is time for us to be mature.

Unity of Action vs Uniformity of Thought

I'm not saying all these differences are the same, I am saying what Allah says in the Quran, and this is very clear. Listen to me carefully, unity of action does not require uniformity in thought. Memorize this, unity of action does not require uniformity in thought.

You don't have to agree with my abstract notions of theology, for us to come together to build a better world. You don't have to agree with my fiqh, my understanding of theology, my exact interpretation of this verse. As long as we believe in Allah, we believe in the Messenger, we believe in the Day of Judgment, these are the شَعَائِر of the deen.

Yes there are red lines, I've spoken about them over here, but those red lines are very broad. Believing in the kalima, believing in the Quran, believing in خَتْمُ النُّبُوَّةِ, after that we can agree to disagree with civility, we can agree to disagree while we come together and work for the greater good.

I am not saying all of the differences are the same, we know there are big differences, but right now, right now is not the time to divide more, right now is the time to unite more, right now is the time to see what is in common, and come together for the greater good, and achieve a level of maturity.

The Divine Command for Cooperation

Maturity is what I'm saying, you can disagree without being nasty, you can disagree while you work together for a common good, this is exactly what Allah says in the Quran:

وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ

Come together and cooperate. Allah did not say only cooperate with those who have the same ID card as you, those who have the same gym membership as you, those who have the same firqah as you, no! Come together and cooperate in all aspects of good and piety.

You want to build a better school, you want to bring about good reforms in the community, you want to do something positive, I don't have to have an exam of your theology, let's come together and do something positive, this is what Allah is commanding us in the Quran, unity of action does not require uniformity of thought, this is what point and message I'm leaving upon you, which is the message of Allah, the message of the Messenger ﷺ.

Moving Beyond Sectarianism

Firqah, tafarruk, tahazzub, breaking into jamaat is not good, and we actively work together to minimize this, and especially O Muslims of this country, especially us in America, we have to achieve a level of maturity where we put sectarianism at a tertiary level, we leave it at minimal, yes there are differences, those differences are sometimes painful, we will come together like you come together with a cousin you had an argument with, an uncle who said something nasty about you, you're still in the same family, you still have to come together, you still have to work together for the greater good.

Doesn't mean they're all right, but most definitely they are not your enemy, they are not those whom you have to look down upon, the real enemy are those who are perpetrating genocide, the real enemy are those who don't want to see world peace, the real enemy are those who want to exacerbate global tensions, that's the enemy, if you cannot see this now, then honestly something is wrong with your own intellect and your heart, and turn to Allah for guidance, dear Muslims.

All of you come and hold on to the book of Allah, the rope of Allah together, and do not divide amongst yourselves, learn to disagree with etiquette, learn to disagree with humility, agree to work together on the greater projects, and if you have different interpretations, different opinions, then learn to be civil about them, even as you come together for the greater good, this is how we will achieve unity in this world, and Allah will judge us on the day of judgment.
