We have a couple of du'as. One brother, Arshad Hussain's mother is in the ICU requesting du'a.

And also we have a few brothers and sisters that passed away. Sister Nadia, Ahsan's father, Brother Masoud, Shahidi's grandmother, and Haji Yaqub, the father of Ahsan and Siraj Ahmadani, and the mother of our beloved brother Ali. They all passed away.

The Promise of Allah for Those Who Worship Him

My dear, beloved, respected brothers and sisters, I ask Allah Azza wa Jal to bless me and you with ikhlas, with sincerity, in everything that we say and everything that we do. Ameen.

Rasulullah ﷺ is telling us in this hadith al-Qudsi where he ﷺ tells us what Allah wants to tell us. So it's not Qur'an, they call it hadith al-Qudsi.

(Hadith Qudsi - Sunan al-Tirmidhi)

"O son of Adam, devote yourself to my worship and I will fill your heart with richness and I will fill your hands with sustenance. O son of Adam, do not distance yourself from me otherwise I will fill your heart with poverty and I will fill your hands with worthless distractions."

Understanding True Worship

My brothers and sisters, lend me your heart so we can take this hadith word by word. O son of Adam, devote yourself to my worship. When people hear this statement they think that Allah is asking me to be in the masjid 24x7 reading Quran, making Salat. No, ya akhwan.

Devote yourself to my worship. It means to transform every action into an act of worship. And it's very easy to do that.

Marriage. Look at this. It could be 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years. How can I transform my marriage into an act of worship? Just by saying and making the intention, the true sincere intention before I get married: Ya Allah, I am getting married to complete my deen. I am getting married to protect myself and another individual from falling into haram. And this is my real intention. Imagine, that whole life span of that marriage will be an act of worship.

Ya Allah, I am majoring in medicine, so I can help my brothers and sisters and human beings who cannot afford, who need help when it comes to medical care. All my 8, 9 years of education is ibadah, is an act of worship.

Worship in Daily Life

I don't want my young brothers and sisters to think that that's all we do all day long is just sit down and Quran and du'a and dhikr. All of that is amazing. But we all know that this is not logical.

My treatment to my parents is an act of worship, is as a matter of fact one of the best acts of worship. The treatment to my spouse is an act of worship. My sister, your husband is your door to jannah. And my brother, your wife, Rasulullah ﷺ told us, the best of you is the best to his wife. I want to be the best, so I treat my wife the best.

The way I raise my children is an act of worship. The way I do business, especially in a non-Muslim land, is an act of worship. My honesty, my truthfulness is an act of worship. The way I give the rights of my Muslim, my fellow Muslims, I give them their rights by replying the salam, by visiting them when they're sick, by praying their janazah, that's an act of worship.

When I finish my salat, many of us when they finish the salat, they are, you know the three salam people, "salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah." Ya akhi, sit down after you finish your fard, and dedicate literally two to three minutes of remembering Allah azza wa jal.

You know what happens beside the ajr and the reward of the dhikr you're making? You know what's happening, Rasulullah ﷺ told us, an angel is dedicated. This angel's job is only one. As long as you are sitting down and making dhikr after the fard salat, this angel's job is to do what?

An angel making du'a for me, not a guy just came back from hajj, an angel that never sinned is asking Allah to forgive me, asking Allah to have mercy on me, and I'm rushing.

And you see the same guy, who left the dhikr after the salat, standing outside and talking about dunya matters for 15-20 minutes. Leaving the halaqa in the masjid. I'm not talking about someone who leaves the halaqa because he has some responsibilities at home. No, no. We leave the halaqa where is the halaqa of dhikr and surrounded by the angels and all that, to go stand and talk about business.

You know, anytime you see, like Rasulullah ﷺ said, anytime you see a circle of knowledge, ارتع, sit down, because it's رياض الجنة. Sit down and get all that reward. 5-10 minutes, it's not going to make much difference.

My brothers and sisters, making time for our family is ibadah. Making time for our children is an act of worship.

Subhanallah, when you think about it, Allah is telling me, devote yourself to what you are created for. "I only created jinkind and mankind to worship Me."

And Allah is telling me, O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship. You want to your job, and the boss says, please make sure you come to work. Ya Allah, my whole purpose of life is to worship You, and You're telling me, devote yourself to My worship, and if I do that, listen to the prizes. Subhanallah, just doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala told me, "Ya Muhammad ﷺ, tell mankind: 'Tell them, my salat, my sacrifice, my life, and my death is all for the sake of Allah.'" Is that the case, Ya Akhwan? Is that the case? How much is my time and your time, on a daily basis, is dedicated for the worship of Allah Azza wa Jalla? And how much dedication is to dunya matters?

"No partner to Him, and by that, the above, I was not given the option. I was commanded." This is not an option to make my salat and my nusuk and my life and my death for the sake of Allah. It's not an option. No, this is a command. وَبِذَٰلِكَ أُمِرْتُ - This is what I was commanded to do.

Sometimes when we pray, things are so bad, that when someone approaches you to marry your daughter, the father is so proud. "Alhamdulillah, my son, he prays five times a day. And he fasts in Ramadan." You know what you just told me? My son breathes. My son eats everyday and drinks. Is that a luxury? This is how bad things are. That my son prays and fasts in Ramadan? Habibi, that what qualifies you to be a Muslim. That's the qualification to be a Muslim. Without that we are not a Muslim.

(Hadith - Sunan al-Tirmidhi)

The Rewards of True Devotion

It's a command from Allah. And then after that, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala listen to the prize. Subhanallah. The reward of this dedication of the ibadah is something that every Muslim wishes for.

I will give you the peace of mind and abundance of rizq." Isn't that the dream of everyone in this room?

أملأ, not جيبك. He did not say I will fill your pocket with richness. That's very easy. Very easy. "I will fill your heart with richness."

(Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Rasulullah ﷺ said: "Being rich is not by having abundance of wealth. Being rich is the richness of the soul." The richness of the heart.

And Allah promised here, I will fill your heart with richness. What does that mean? I am content. I have cancer stage 4. I make $2,000 a month. I make $50,000 a month. I am content. That richness ya akhwan, it is priceless. Priceless. And I can earn it. I can deserve it. By dedicating my life to worship Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى.

وَأَمْلَأْ يَدَيْكَ رِزْقًا - "And I will fill your hands with sustenance." Who is saying this? Not a guy that he is very influential. No, no, no. The Razzaq himself is saying, I will fill your hands with rizq. The Razzaq himself.

Understanding True Rizq

Because the minute we think about rizq, our mind instantly goes to money, wealth. Absolutely, this is rizq. But my beloved brother, my beloved sister, your attendance today of Jum'ah is a rizq. You coming to Fajr in Jum'ah is a rizq. You attending Isha in congregation is a rizq. Having a child that became a teenager and still listening to you and praying on time is a rizq. Going home to a peaceful home is a huge rizq. Having your parents being pleased with you is an amazing rizq. You eating on your own is a rizq. You showering on your own is a rizq. You digesting the food without tubes and hospital is a rizq.

And Allah said, I will fill your hands with all these kinds of rizq. Belonging to a community that loves you and care about you is a rizq. Coming to a masjid where are 300-400 people in Fajr, this is a huge rizq. Giving the opportunity to volunteer and help in the house of Allah is a rizq.

Unfortunately, we do not know this rizq until we lose it.

The Warning of Distance from Allah

O son of Adam, do not distance yourself from me. How can we O Allah? My brother, my sister, my brother who only comes to Jum'ah. My brother and sister who only pray in Ramadan. I beg you to tell me why? Why? What did Allah do to you so you stopped coming to the masjid? What did he do to you?

Look at you. Eyes, health, wealth, shelter, cars, children, breathing on your own. Countless amount of blessings and you do not have 5 minutes. 5 minutes to say thank you O Allah. You cannot afford to stay away from me.

My brothers and sisters, just this week we went to the cemetery 5 times. Last week 4 times. And the brothers and sisters that passed away, may Allah have mercy on them, they ranged from 19 to 76. Most of us included in that range.

So what are you waiting for? What are you waiting for to start praying the 5 daily prayers? The minimum requirement to be called a Muslim. Really, what are you waiting for? When the community is shaken with a 19 year old dying on his bed. If that did not wake you up and bring you back to Allah, what will? Please tell me, what is it? What is it?

Why did it happen in this community, not other community? This is a message to every member of this community. Wake up, you could be next.

Don't distance yourself away from me.

Allah is so happy when his abd comes to the masjid to visit him. Allah

A Call to Commitment

Please, I beg you, make a promise now, from now. This could be our last Jumu'ah.

"خَلَصْ يَا أَللَّهِ، I'm done with neglecting my Salat. I'm done, ya Allah. Please ya Allah, forgive me. That's it. Before Ramadan, I'm not gonna wait till Ramadan."

The Importance of Prayer and Gratitude

Now from Asr, I'm gonna start coming back to you, ya Allah. I'm praying all my Salawat on time. When we say, we are busy. Who gave you the tools to be busy? How can I be busy from the one who gave me everything to be busy? How can I not show gratitude? Five times five Salawat, 25 minutes. How stingy could you be? 25 minutes from 24 hours. You do not have for the one who gave you everything?

Marriage and Character

The one who has no khair to Allah, he will not have khair to your daughter. He will not have khair to his sister. To your sister. Do not marry him. Do not give him your daughter. Do not build on maybe. Do you pray? Wallahi, I don't pray. But inshallah, after I marry your daughter, I will pray. As-salamu alaykum habibi. Have a nice day.

For my daughter, you're gonna pray. And for Allah who gave you everything, you're still hesitant? No habibi, may Allah guide you. As-salamu alaykum. I will. No, no, no, don't count. You don't know how many parents come to me. And they build the relationship of their daughter forever on, I will change. I will. No, no, he will. He promised us sheikh, he will. Really? Really? For 25 years. Now, he might. By the way, he might. But me, as a father, who raised a daughter that fears Allah, I will never take that risk.

True Poverty of the Heart

I will fill your heart with poverty. I will fill your heart with poverty. You are a multi-millionaire. You have tons of money. You have companies all over the world. But you have no time to pray. You're poor. You're always worried about your businesses and your stocks. You have sleepless nights. You have no peace of mind. Even though with all that wealth. Because the heart is poor. It's not connected to its creator.

I will fill your heart with poverty. And I will fill your hands with worthless distractions. You will be so busy. So busy. You have no time for nothing. Very busy. I don't want people to think that, oh, he will become poor. No, no, no. He will be multi-millionaire. Very possible. But there's no taste. There's no taste for that life. May Allah make us from the people who listen and apply.

They say, ask Allah for forgiveness. So ask Him for forgiveness. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.

The Business of Uthman: Investing in the Akhirah

Look at the Sahaba and the business with Allah. There was a period of time. Medina was going through famine. Lack of products and goods and food. And Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, he received a hundred camel caravan full with goods. When the merchants of Medina heard about that, they all raced to buy the goods and do business.

One merchant said, I will give you double what you paid. The other said, I will give you three times what you paid Ya Uthman. The other said, I will pay you four times what you paid. You know what he told them? I made a deal with someone who will give me ten times. They looked at each other and they know that they are the only merchants of Medina.

He said, who is that? Who is going to give you ten times what you paid? He said, Rabb al-Alameen. He promised that every Hasanah is multiplied by ten. So all these hundred camels are dedicated to the Fuqara of the Medina.

Focus on the Akhirah

There are people whom all their ham, all their worry, all their concern is the Akhirah. You know how we are so concerned about our wealth and about how many zeros I can increase in my bank account? Their concern was the Akhirah. This is all they think about day and night. Why? Why? Why? Because the time is limited. Because they knew that today could be my last day.

Preparing for Ramadan

Just like this Ramadan. Everybody who passed from Shawwal first till tomorrow, till Sha'ban 30, did not know that last Ramadan was actually the last Ramadan.

My brothers and sisters, the month of Ramadan is coming. Please, I beg you. Tell Allah, Ya Allah, if you kept me alive to witness this month, I'm going to show you a different person, Ya Allah. Ya Allah, I'm going to do this, this, this. Make a list from now. Because, look at the greatness of our Deen. Because if Allah took my soul before Ramadan first, that sincere list, it will be recorded. Because I really made that intention.

Building Family Traditions for Ramadan

So please, go home and don't take this as a talk. Go home, sit down with your family. Baba, what's your plan this year for Ramadan? You know what? Whomsoever finish surat, I'm going to get him the biggest prize on Eid. Surat al-Naba, surat al-Mulk, whatever. Something excitement in the house, not just another day, another Eid.

Sit down, what's your plans Baba? Baba, I want to go with you every day to Fajr. Allahu Akbar. Baba, I heard there's a halaqa every day at Epic, till Shuruq, so they can get the Ajr of Hajj and Umrah. Baba, Hajj and Ramadan, yalla ya Baba. Let's go Habibi.

Let them feel that, you know what, when me and you pass away, they would say, Wallahi Baba used to do this and that. Not Baba used to feed me and take me to the best restaurant and give me the best clothes. Everybody does that. But you? No. You're going to be the dad that the son and the daughter, after you are long gone, they will raise their hand and say:

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمَا وَارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا

Closing Du'as
