When The Kabeer Says “ Your Bounty is Kabeer” Tafseer Surah Al-Insan | EP07 | Ustadh Mohamad Baajour

By Ustadh Mohamad Baajour | 2026-06-05T01:50:08.591794+00:00 | Topic: Quran

Bismillah, alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalam ala rasoolillah. Two weeks ago, last week, we were busy with the announcement. We finished with:

SubhanAllah, we said, what a miracle. How can you have silver and glass at the same time? Silver, see-through silver, transparent silver. This is unheard of. This is why it is Jannah. These are only available in Jannah. May Allah make us drink from them. Ameen.

Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he said, we explained what does قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا mean. And then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said:

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا

And they will be given a drink of pure-flavored ginger.

The Service of Jannah

وَيُسْقَوْنَ They will be given the drink. They don't have to, like we said last week, or two weeks before, just a reminder. You don't have to get up. You don't have to do anything. You just think about what you like. You have to just imagine what you want. And it's there. It's done.

وَيُسْقَوْنَ I feel like having some soft, smooth drink. Boom. It's right there. وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا They are being... Someone is giving them the drink. We all know that there are وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ. There are boys or creation called وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ. These people, their job is only strictly to serve the people of Jannah.

So they go around, continuously serving. You don't feel like, you know what, come on, your service took so long. No, no, no. Immediately, the minute you think about it, the branch descends to the level that you could take it. The food is as delicious. The second bite is more delicious than the first bite. All of that is complete bliss, complete comfort, complete rest.

The Meaning of the Cup

كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا Here, فِيهَا either goes back to the Jannah, they will be given the water in the Jannah, or it goes back to the cups. Because we were talking about the cups before.

And we said before, in the beginning of Tafsir, we said the word كَأْس. What did we say? Anybody remember? It has to be wine. كَأْس. When you say كَأْس, that means whatever is in it is wine. Different than كُوب. كُوب could have juice, water. But كَأْس is always for wine.

Mixed with Ginger

كَأْسًا it's mixed. So this كَأْس, it has wine. مِزَاج from يُمزَج, مَزَجَ is to mix. So the wine is mixed with ginger, زَنجَبِيل.

And we all know, subhanAllah, one of the things that has a cure for everything is ginger. Anytime you have cold, ginger. You're not having children, ginger. Just like when we were growing up, there was a medicine in Lebanon called Penadol. You go to the doctor in the school, you broke your foot, you broke your leg, you're going crazy, you're throwing up, all Penadol. Take Penadol.

So mixed with ginger. And last time it was mixed with Kafur. Right? مِزَاجُهَا كَانَ كَافُورًا This time it's mixed with ginger.

And this is the, look at the word used here. كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا, كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا. كَانَ here, it does not mean that it was in the past and it stopped. No. In general, in general, don't think about now. Think about that time.

When you offer something with ginger, like for example, you have a few guests. And you say, Ahmed is my habibi. I want to give him the ginger. And this is for the VIP of your guests. For the VIP of your guests, you give the ginger. Not to everybody. Because it's very expensive, very hard to get. Don't think I can go to Kroger. There was no Kroger at that time. So it was very hard to get. So when you give ginger, oh, sheikh, when we went to his house, he gave us ginger. You know, gourmet. Something really classy, luxurious.

So here, it's always mixed with ginger. Always, always. This spring, always. That has kafur, like as if you're walking. This spring is kafur. This spring is ginger. This spring is chocolate. This spring is pineapple. So, always. It's always mixed with ginger. Not, keep in mind, he's talking to the people that ginger was very, very luxurious. So, you know, maybe it will be ginger for a week. No, no, no, no. It's always mixed with ginger.

The Spring Called Salsabila

This ginger is coming from a spring. Now, listen carefully. That is called salsabila. In Arabic, when you say something is, the drink is refreshing, easy to digest, smooth. All the best things you could say about a drink, you say it is salis. And if it is extremely, extremely salis, salsabila.

When you say something is salsabila, this is the best drink ever. Now, look. The name of the spring is after the taste. The spring is named after its taste. You know, it's not like, this spring is called Plano, and then, oh, it is delicious. No, no, no. The spring is called delicious. Now, where are you going? Where are we going to delicious spring? The spring itself is called salsabila. The name of that spring is called salsabila.

The Eternal Youth

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا

And there will be waited by eternal youth. وِلْدَان is plural of وَلَد. وَلَد is young boy. وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ. I will explain what does مُّخَلَّدُونَ mean.

If you saw them, you would think, if you look at them, you would think they are scattered pearls. Scattered pearls. The boy is like a scattered pearl. The amount of, you know, when you have a masbaha, and it breaks, how they spread all over. Imagine millions of them are there just to serve you.

And they are مُّخَلَّدُونَ. What does مُّخَلَّدُونَ mean? Either they are there forever, or they themselves do not age. This creation called وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ, they do not age. And also, they do not die. Those وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ are there at a certain age, certain beauty, certain energy, that will stay the same as long, not as long, you are in Jannah. They are مُّخَلَّدُونَ themselves. And their age is mukhalad. And their service is mukhalad. Everything about them is mukhalad. Forever. Eternal.

And when you look at them, subhanAllah, I want you to imagine, if the one that is serving you, when you look at him, you are seeing pearls. The one who is serving you looks like a pearl. Can you imagine what he is serving you? How does it look like? How does it taste like? If he, and you look at them, you don't want to take your eyes. إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ. And when you look at them, so beautiful.

If you are attracted to the beauty of the وِلْدَان, can you imagine the things that they have with them? Like we said before, not only the product that they are bringing, the goods that they are bringing is good, but even the eyes that are seeing them are enjoying that view, that sight.

When you see, this is something in the Arab world, that era, that scattered pearls is something of, they used to say, or when someone is very, very, very rich, those kings, if they want to do something immaculate out of this world, outstanding to the bride, they put a sheet of gold on the floor, and they put scattered pearls on it. This is the ultimate luxury. So this is coming from something that they know about. What? Scattered pearls?

And keep in mind, because sometimes our mind starts thinking about fake pearls. Keep in mind that, no, these people were not, the pearls are from the sea. And to get the pearl, I don't think there was scuba diving at that time. To get a pearl, you have to go through so much. Now you're talking about scattered pearls? It has to be kings only who can afford something like this.

So, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is telling us, you know, in this dunya, only kings can have something like this. Over there, every single one of you will have it. Scattered pearls. It shows the abundance of the pearls. It's not like they would look like a pearl. No, no, no. Many, many, many pearls.

A Huge Bounty

And then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, He said:

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا

That's another reading. There are two readings. Or, if you look over there, you would see a huge bounty. مُلْكًا كَبِيرًا. Or, if you look, and then you look again, you will see a huge bounty. A huge mulk.

Now, it says, if you look, listen to me carefully. Let me ask you before I tell you. What comes to your mind? If I tell you, if you look, you will see beauty and luxury. Anybody? No direction is mentioned. Everywhere you look. No direction. If you look to your left, you will see something beautiful. To the right, not that great. No, no, no. وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا. Huge. You can't see the end of it.

When Al-Kabeer Says the Bounty is Kabeer

SubhanAllah. You have to know, who's the one who's saying that the mulk is kabeer. The Kabeer himself. The Kabeer himself is saying the mulk is kabeer.

You know, sometimes I ask a brother, what do you think of this restaurant? I've never tasted something like this. Amazing. And I go there and have food poisoning after. It was the worst food I've ever tasted. So I get very careful now. Who am I asking? Does this guy know his food? Are you experienced with food? How do you think of this vacation? Oh, subhanAllah. Florida is so beautiful. The place was amazing. I said, brother, but, you know, weren't there women not dressed properly at the beach that you went to? Yeah, but, you know, I lowered my gaze. Lower your gaze at the beach, ya habibi.

So you have to know who's giving you the description. Who's giving you the description? It's very important. If you ask a kid, you know, what do you think of this phone? Oh, my God, I would love to have an iPhone. If you ask probably a 19-year-old. 13? I have 17, habibi. You know, so it depends who you're talking to.

Now the Kabeer himself is saying that the mulk is kabeer. Can you imagine? Allah the Kabeer. He's saying that when you look, the mulk is kabeer.

The Last Person to Enter Jannah

Let me give you an idea. Ya Allah, or Rasulullah ﷺ said, I know the last person who entered Jannah. He is a man that is brought from the hellfire. And he will be crawling. And he will be told, go and enter Jannah. The last Muslim who will enter Jannah. Go and enter Jannah. He will come to it. And he will come back to Allah and say, Ya Allah, Jannah's full. Everybody's there. I don't see any spot for me.

So Allah said, go and enter Jannah. He will come and come back. Ya Allah, I just came back. It's full. Then he will come back to Allah. And Allah will tell him, go back and enter Jannah. And you will have the like of earth and ten times more.

This is the last guy who will enter Jannah. He will have the dunya. How many countries you visited? Have you visited all the continents? And if you visited all the continents, have you visited every city and village in these continents? Even if you lived a hundred years or so, you will not visit half of this dunya. Not even quarter of this dunya. The last person who will enter Jannah, will get ten times the size of earth, of dunya. Ten times.

So in another narration, he would say, Ya Allah, are you mocking me? Are you joking with me? All I'm looking is, I want a small spring of water with a nice house. This is enough for me, Allah. Are you mocking me?

So Ibn Mas'ud, when he was narrating the hadith, he laughed. He said to the sahaba, he said, ask me why I'm laughing. They asked him, why are you laughing Ibn Mas'ud? He said, because Rasulullah ﷺ, when he was narrating this hadith, he laughed. He laughed at this. And when he was asked, Ya Rasulullah, why are you laughing? He said, because Allah laughed when the guy told him, are you mocking me? وَأَنتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ And you are Rabbul Alameen. And you're telling me you got 10 times the dunya? SubhanAllah. And I saw the messenger smiling broadly, that his molar teeth could be seen.

Now, when we say مُلْكًا كَبِيرًا, we cannot, like we always say, there's no way that this brain, this dunya brain, can imagine what's happening in the akhira.

The Magnificence of Paradise

There's no way, no way. For example, Rasulullah ﷺ, he said, in Jannah, the believer will have a tent. One tent. One tent. Hadith is in Bukhari and Muslim. 100% authentic. In Jannah, the believer, may Allah make us all among them, will have a tent, made of a single hollowed pearl. The length, the length of that pearl, 60 miles in the sky. This is just one pearl, one tent, one tent in Jannah, 60 miles. You go to Fort Worth, and you still, the pearl did not end yet, and this is the height, not the width. This is just the height. Only one. Just one pearl.

The Tree of Tuba

Another example. A man, an Arabi, came to Rasulullah ﷺ, and he said, Ya Rasulullah, you know the Arabs are always funny and they're blunt. He said, Ya Rasulullah, is there fruit in Jannah? Are there fruits in Jannah? He said, yeah, there is a tree, there's a tree called طوبى (tuba). He said, Ya Rasulullah, which tree in this dunya looks like tuba? There's nothing in the dunya that looks like that tree. Then he said, how big is it? How big is this tree? He said, Even the Arab did not understand what I said. He said, the trunk of that tree, if you ride on your camel and you want to make tawaf around that tree, if you want to go, just circle that tree. Your camel will die at an old age and you're not done circling the tree. ملكاً كبيراً (mulkan kabira).

The Grapes of Paradise

Ya Rasulullah, فيه عنب (fi inab). This Arab looks like he was hungry. Is there any grapes in Jannah? Any grapes? He said, نعم (naam). He said, how big is the grape? How big is the عنقود (anqud)? The vine, the vine of grapes. How big is it? He said, The size of one grape is the distance of a crow. Keep in mind also, Rasulullah ﷺ gave them something that they relate to. That will travel for one month without pausing or resting. This is the size of the grape. One month flying, the size of the grape. Don't ask about the taste. This is just the size. ملكاً كبيراً (mulkan kabira). SubhanAllah.

Choosing the Eternal Over the Temporary

So, when we hear that, ya Ikhwan, you know, subhanAllah, how could you, how could we favor this low degraded dunya? How can I sell all this for 10, 15, 20 years of definitely not pure happiness? There's nothing called pure happiness in this dunya. There's always something, some sickness, some bad child, some death in the family, some low income, some debts, something to make it evil. There's nothing, there's nothing pure happiness in this dunya.

Today, sister, may Allah give them the patience, wallahi. The sister who lost her son at 19 years old, she came to my office today, may Allah, you know, you know when you talk to somebody and you say, I know what you're going through. You don't know nothing. How do you know what you're going through? Did you lose a 19 year old? Like when I was talking to brother Marwan, may Allah release him, ya Rabb. I was talking to him live camera, and I said, how are you doing? How are you feeling, Marwan? He said, sheikh, it's so easy to talk on the minbar. Now I'm living it. Be patient, ya shabab. He said, now I'm telling you one thing. It's not easy at all.

The Folly of Trading Paradise for This World

So, how can I give up all this luxury? And that's not luxury like for a week, for a month, for five years. Eternal luxury. For dunya matters, you go and you sell haram and you buy haram and you disobey your parents and you commit adultery and you deal with riba. For what? How could you, for example, deal with riba? For example, he always, Ustadh Baajour, only talks about riba. How could you declare war on Allah to get a house where sewage flows under it? And you lose a house where rivers flow under it. How? House? After you sign the contract of riba and you're very excited that you're going to the new house, boom, you died on the street. You did not even enjoy that house. And that house that you're going to live there, no comparison to this house. No comparison. Anything divided by infinity is zero. Right?

How? How long are you going to live? You know, when our sister died, may Allah have mercy on her, the mother of our brother Saif, when she died, she was 105 years old. So when the brother was putting the numbers on the, registering the death, the last number was 100. He clicked. Nothing after 100. You know how the scroll stops? 100. So even if you live 110, ya akhi, what is that compared to eternity?

A Du'a for Paradise

So if we want all this beautiful stuff that is in the Qur'an, it's not like, you know, a guy said this is going to happen. No. It's in the Qur'an and it's not a coincidence every single Friday. And I want you to listen to it tomorrow and imagine. Ya Allah, I beg you with the best of your names in this most beautiful, most blessed night, the night of Friday. Ya Allah, in this night of Juma, for everyone in this room and their spouses and their parents and their children and everyone who's watching us. Ya Allah, I beg you to make us all enjoy this ملك الكبير (mulk al-kabir). Ameen.

May Allah fill our homes with love and mercy. May Allah make our last deeds our best deeds and our last words لا إله إلا الله (La ilaha illallah).
