A Tour of Tales — The Journey of Yusuf (AS)

Allah in the blessed book of the Qur'an has narrated to us many stories that we can benefit from, extract gems and jewels from, that we can enjoy, benefit, and take lessons from. However, He says Himself:

"O Messenger of Allah, We are now narrating to you the best of stories, the most beautiful of stories." And why are We narrating this story to you?

"So it can give you strength, it can give you comfort, it can console you in your most difficult moment." It can be a form of relief for you in your hardship, it can be a form of comfort for you in your difficulties. We're giving you the best story, the most beautiful of stories.

It's one thing for someone who's never narrated a story to say that this is the best story. But Allah has the most beautiful stories in the Qur'an. And then He says, "O Messenger of Allah, this is the most beautiful of them all. This will have the most beautiful lessons and the takeaways for you to resonate with and that are relevant to you in your life."

A Story of Lows That End with a High

And now, O Messenger of Allah, you read them. Similarly for us, this story has many gems and it allows us to experience this journey of Yusuf عليه السلام, which starts with so many lows and ends with a high. It's an entire roller coaster of grief, sadness, pain, tears, loss of loved ones, separation, absence in their hearts.

And it allows us to understand that we are not the first people to deal with loss and difficulty.

The Tour — Coming to Your City

For this, I'm excited to announce inshallah, I'll be visiting different cities such as your beautiful city in St. Louis, the mega city that people call the Madinah of America in Dallas. But really the Madinah of America is Detroit and Warren, Michigan where we are — and of course Houston, and inshallah of course my hometown, our city in Michigan as well.

We'll be traveling with this class on the journey of hope and the dream for the throne — the journey of Yusuf عليه السلام.

I hope and I expect to see all of you there with your families, with your communities. Inshallah we can enjoy this beautiful story together — experience the pain together, then experience the joy together, experience the sadness together, inshallah experience the happiness together.

We hope that any sadness that we have in this world, inshallah Allah will remove it in this world, or else give us the reward for it in the akhirah — nothing but joy, ease. In the akhirah there is nothing but happiness, comfort, peace, سكينة (sakinah). May Allah allow us to experience that.
