Announcement: The DREAM Arabic Program
I just want to make a quick announcement to everybody here, insha'Allah. A lot of you are familiar — I come from Irving, Texas, which seems like another country. But I come here not so often, and I wanted to extend an invitation to this community, especially its youth, to try and consider the DREAM Program — the full-time 9-month Arabic program that is there in Irving, Texas.
Alhamdulillah, we've been running for 5 years now. 60 students come from all over the world. We have students from Dubai, from England, from France, from Canada — and of course all over the US, and even here locally in Dallas and Texas.
The point of the program is to give students a solid education in the Arabic language so they can understand the Quran without translation. They can understand the deep linguistics of the Quran, they can read tafasir, they can learn to speak a decent amount of Arabic at the same time, and listen to Arabic lectures in media.
A really good time to do it is right after high school and before college begins. Or in the middle of college — like if you're two years into college and you want to do the program, it would be a really good time to take a couple of semesters off and pick this up.
For the parents that are here, I would request you to consider: just like you have educational plans for your children — they want to go off to med school, accounting, whatever they want to do — I think this should be part of their education. Because this can serve them the rest of their lives. Once they get married, when they have children — this is 2 semesters, 9 months out of their lives, but it can really, really serve to just completely transform their lives.
