She Accepted Islam Because of His Underwear??

One of the remarkable stories I heard from one of my teachers — he used to send his clothes to the laundry, a laundry service in the US every week. Every week he'll take a batch of dirty clothes, take it to the laundry service, drop it with them. One day, the woman at the reception of the laundry service asked him a question.

She says, "Why is it that the undergarments of all of my clients are stained, but your undergarments are always clean? I don't see any marks on your underwear, any dirty marks — but all of my clients, without exception, whenever I get the undergarments, they're dirty. Why is it?"

He said, "There's something we Muslims do called istinja. We're very clean people. Even when we use the toilet, we have a specific way of washing ourselves with water. So there's no traces left."

"Really? Down to personal hygiene? That's really interesting. I never thought religion would be that specific."

"You want to learn more?" He said, "Here, let me pass you a book. Let me pass you a flyer."

It was only a few weeks later that the woman accepted Islam.

The Power of Living the Deen

How did she accept Islam? Did he stand there to have a debate about the existence of God? Did he stand there shouting at her, asking her questions and interrogating her? Did he stand there with the Bible in her face?

No. It was his undergarments that led her to question and understand the brilliance of this religion.
