The Mindset of the Prophets

Ayyub, alayhi al-salam, he's got this horrible skin condition, he's lost his wife, he's lost his children, he's bedridden for decades. In that situation — some of the terminal illness, horrible, difficult life situation — he says:

۞ وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

"My Lord, some harm has just touched me — and You are the most merciful of those who show mercy."

Like, that's not the name I would use for someone who put me in a terminal illness. I'd say, what are you doing, bro? Man's out here, serving you. What are all these boils? Okay. He says, أَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ — you're the most merciful.

He saw the illness as a mercy. That's crazy. What kind of a — like, you know, Tony Robbins can't teach you that mindset.

That's the mindset of the Prophets — for them, when they link real-life situations with the names of Allah, they just sail through them.
