This Will Bring Your Heart Back To Life

There are some of us in this room whom istighfar, and the Qur'an, and adhkar, and Surat al-Duha is not going to help. Because there are some of us who are drowning in the sea of sin. Some of us so far that we cannot see a way back.

For those of us who find ourselves in this category, there is an even more stronger, electric jolting that will bring your heart back to life. It is the remembrance of death.

The Remembrance of Death

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, when he talks about death in the Qur'an, he says:

"The death that you are running away from — it is closing upon you."

You see, the angel of death does not take an appointment. The angel of death does not wait for his moment. At any time, at the appointed time, he swoops in and he ends it. There are people here in this room who may not be here next week because their life has been taken.

The Action Point: Attend a Janazah

And as you remember death, the action point for this week — to revive the heart for Ramadan — is to attend a janazah. To go to the grave. To help dig one of the graves. And as you put your hands on the sand, to feel that maybe one day, very soon, this very sand that I'm touching will be poured onto my head.

And if that doesn't wake your heart up, then there is no help for your heart — because even the greatest of consultants have failed.
