What We're Desperately Trying to Avoid

In this world, in every step of our life, we have to remember — where is the destination, where is the goal, where are we going, how long is left, what distance is left. All of us are going back to Allah, and every day that passes, one day gets cut from the journey. And so Allah reminds us that death is the start of our journey to Him, not the end. Death is the beginning.

"The pains of death are going to strike you. That's what you were avoiding your whole life."

Just last week, somebody invested 180 million dollars in a company that will help human beings delay their death — but he's not going to succeed. Spend all of the money in the world. When the angel of death comes, he comes.

"And once you die, the trumpet will be blown and we will all stand up again."

And every one of us will come with a companion — a companion angel, a companion jinn who was advising us, pulling us this way and that way in our lives.

And Allah will say to us when we stand in front of Him — "You forgot about this meeting? How did you forget about this appointment?" Now I will remove the cover, and you will see clearly how real the Day of Judgment is. "Now your sight today is sharp."

And then we will begin arguing — with the angel, with the Shaitan. And Allah will say: don't argue. Because it's not about who suggested, and who pulled you, and who pushed you, and who encouraged you — in the end, you did it, my friend. The Shaitan will go scot-free on the Day of Judgment, and you and I will be there to answer: what did we do in this world?
