The Virtue of Knowledge and the Miftah Online Seminary

One of the great qualities that distinguished Adam عليه السلام from the angels, and that showed his supremacy over the angels, was his access to knowledge that Allah had endowed him with:

وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسْمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

That Adam عليه السلام was taught and informed of all the names, and then he was presented to the angels. From this, the Mufassirun comment that human beings are unique in the sense that they can seek knowledge and they can learn about the different aspects of our deen with quite ease.

And this time specifically, it is not necessary — it is not essential, though it is beneficial and commendable — to travel for knowledge across the world and across the country and give up years for it. However, at Miftah, at the core, we seek to allow people to learn knowledge through our seminary. And alhamdulillah, through Miftah Online, we have taught thousands of students from across the country, from across the world, from 23 different countries.

The Curriculum

We have set a curriculum that covers 22 courses, and a student can choose every semester the amount of courses they wish to take, how fast they wish to graduate. At the end of the semester they are granted transcripts and they are shown the track that is available for them. Within a span of two or three years, a person can complete this course.

The courses are found within the six main sciences that are made available in our deen, that all of us should seek out:

We have constructed a curriculum that will touch upon all of these topics up to an intermediate level, and then pass us on towards other institutions if we wish to learn more.

Join the Fall Semester

Alhamdulillah, the fall semester will be beginning in September, and I encourage all of us who are living in different countries and different states — if you're watching this — let's take the leap of faith. Let's take the step of طلب العلم فريضة — of seeking knowledge — at whatever capacity we can.

If you are unable to join, share it with a friend, a sibling, a colleague — give it as a gift to someone. And if you are unable to afford it, all you simply have to do is email us and inshallah we will give you free access. Knowledge does not have a price; knowledge does require a sense of dedication.

So we encourage all of us to seek out these different places where we can seek knowledge — one of them being our online program, inshallah ta'ala. If you haven't joined before, inshallah you are able to join. If you've already joined in the past, we hope that you can continue and benefit from these programs — specifically the Miftah Online Seminary.

JazakAllah Khair. Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu.
