Hidden Treasures — A Ramadan Series

Ramadan is a time that we all strive to the best of our ability to fill our hearts and our lives with good deeds — that perhaps at the rest of the year we were unable to do so in the same manner. What better way to do this than to learn about the hidden deeds and elements that were present in the lives of the best of people — the prophets عليهم الصلاة والسلام and the Sahaba رضي الله عنهم جميعاً — that allowed for them to propel their way towards the akhira and to fill their lives with good deeds.

We're all looking for the edge. What is it that makes us a little bit better when it comes to a certain part in our life? These people were looking for an edge in regards to good deeds. What deed can take me forward? What deed can push me a little bit past the person that's next to me?

Fastabiqul khairat — it is a command of Allah to race towards goodness. Sabiqu wa sari'u — to compete in these aspects.

فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ — there is no better way to discover these beautiful qualities and deeds in the lives of these people, and to pick at them and to learn how we can also implement them in our own lives.
