- Her understanding struggles with the divine possibility, given her circumstances.
Do Not Be Amazed at Allah's Ability
- The angels gently remind her not to be astonished by Allah's decree.
- They affirm that Allah's mercy and blessings are upon the household of the Prophets.
- His power transcends all human limitations and expectations.
Allah is Al-Qadeer: The All-Powerful
- Understanding Allah as Al-Qadeer (The All-Powerful) changes our entire perspective on life.
- It instills confidence that we can overcome any challenge or difficulty.
- Nothing can stop Allah's will, and if He is with you, nothing can stop you.
If Allah is With You, You're Unstoppable
Allah does whatever He wants.
بَدِيعُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
If Allah wants to do something, He just has to say كُنْ and it happens.
Ibrahim (alayhi as-salam) is informed by the angels that he is going to have a son. His wife has a reaction. The Qur'an captures — not just the reaction of Ibrahim, but the reaction of his wife. She says: an old, infertile woman.
What do the angels say to her?
قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ رَحْمَتُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَمِيدٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ
Do not be amazed at the ability of Allah. Don't be amazed.
When you realize Allah is Qadeer — All-Powerful — you realize you can get through anything. Nothing can stop you. Because can anything stop Allah? No. And Allah is behind you, so how can anything stop you?
