Allah is our Ilah. We turn to him in every moment. We crave him more than we crave food and drink.
We feel empty without the mention of his name. Anybody who does not have Allah in their life lives an empty life. Allah says in the Quran, whoever turns away from my remembrance will live a miserable life.
People may come and go in your life. You may get divorced. You may have a breakup. You may have an issue with a friend. They may disappear. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala never disappears.
He doesn't get tired of you. He doesn't get tired of your requests. He does not get tired of your du'a.
If you call me three times in a row, I will get tired of you. If you WhatsApp message me 35 messages in a day, I might block you. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala never blocks you. He is never tired. In fact, he is pleased when you ask him.
The Prophet ﷺ relates in a hadith in Tirmidhi, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves that you ask Allah for every need, even if your sandal is broken, for you to ask Allah to help you to fix it.
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 3604)
The smallest need — nothing is too small for Allah. Do we really know his names and do we really know his attributes? Could we describe Allah to our children? Because the greatest thing to remember constantly is that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala exists.
